Beach trip to the sea! Model horse photography

July 13, 2025

There is something about horses on a beach that features in any horse lover's dreams. If that's the wind swept mane, the sound of hooves pounding the sand, or the stunning backdrop, it's just magical.

Hi everyone! This post is going to be a photography feature from my latest trip to the sea! I don't reach the sea too often, so I wanted to take advantage this time.

I decided to start off with my two favorite pictures in this lot. Wako is my Schleich Marwari stallion and he just looks so good in the water! My only complaint would have to be the legs. As you can see they appear cut off because they were berried in the sand. The sand was just too wet to hold the weight of the horse (Wako being one of the lightest horses you can get) but there was nothing I could do about that so I'll take what I can get.

Here are some more shots of Wako, I was doing the shadow trend here.

Then I took some of Frodo, the Norwegian Fjord Horse, and Freya who is the water loving character of my herd.

Next we have Safari, and I love how the shadow is placed in this shot! (I moved him to another spot on the beach and the sand was not as wet so he was able to stand) Then we have Nyxen whose show name is Polar Dusk Raven Moonlight (I know it's kind of long but my friends and I made it up so it's got special meaning to me ❤) I really like the way the water wraps around his legs, especially the front one, but his back leg is being distortionated so it looks super weird.

And to finish everything off, we went to a botanical garden near where we were staying and I was able to take these photos of Yuri, the Schleich Friesian Stallion. They are very graphical and I like these two a lot.

So with everything said I'm gonna call this trip a success! I hope you enjoyed seeing my photographs and I will se you next time!
