Model Horse Customization Prompts for when You want a Challenge!

January 25, 2025

Hi there! Today I'll be giving you a list of prompts and ideas for model horse customs! I chose these ideas to be challenging, fun , and offer lots of creative freedom! Maybe you are just looking for inspiration, want to get ideas moving or you're actually planing on a challenging custom, I hope you have fun reading what I came up with and find inspiration!

  1. Four element horses. Make a custom for each element, fire, water, wind, and earth. This could mean flowy manes and tails, fairy-like horses, or just the opposite! A running, dark, dappled bay would look awesome with a roached mane and vines growing in it's tail to represent the earth element.

  2. Best basics. Focus on a basic coat color like bay or chestnut and do the best job you can. Sometimes we lean too much towards busy patterns and try to make an impact that way.

  3. Different pose. Try and re-sculpt a horse into a rearing pose, into a bow or a drastic, twisted neck. It's great practice for your horse anatomy skills!

  4. Attitude! Horses have all sorts of moods, capture the essence of a grumpy pony or an excited Thoroughbred.

  5. Dream horse. Dream horses can be really hard to create. We might not know what our dream horse looks like and that's totally fine. Just take a guess, it might change a week later!

  6. Inside of a horse. This could seem creepy but it should be taken as educational material. Create a horse and leave certain areas open so you can see the sculpted organs and mussels inside. Again, this one's not for everybody :)

  7. Prehistoric horse. Prehistoric horses are super interesting! There are many kinds and they each have unique features. An evolution series could also be fun to make but that would be a serious project.

Thank you for reading till the end, I hope these prompts helped you!
