Model Horse Cozy Fall/Autumn Crafts! Accessories and Decor! Schleich Horse Crafts
Hello everyone!
We are firmly into September now, and fall is my favorite season! The golden light, the red leaves, and the fresh wind all bring a feeling like no other. With everything going on around us, it is only fit that our model horse stables get decorated for fall! I have put together a few crafts to bring the fall spirit into our miniature dioramas!
Pumpkins! Pumpkins are the one thing that instantly make anyone think of fall, and they are very easy to make! First, take a small piece of clay, and roll it into a ball. Then slightly flatten it on the top and bottom. Using a tool, make indentations around the edges to create the pumpkin’s creases. Add a small piece of clay to the top for the stem. You can experiment with all kinds of shapes and sizes, making them more wonky or more straight, adding leaves, or making twisting stems. Once the clay is dry, you can paint your pumpkins any color!
Leaves! Leaves are such a great way to add small details to any floor space or surface. I created these maple-like leaves using a silicone mold, but I also made some with straight edges by free handing them. I also painted them in golden fall colors!
Customizing helmets! I love customizing the black Schleich helmets. They can be painted and decorated in so many ways and this is just a fun Schleich horse craft in general, but since this is fall themed, I repainted one in this beautiful sienna color and added gold trim to the edges and peak of the helmet.
Fall themed tack! Blankets, headcollars, and especially saddle pads look amazing in fall colors! You can make them as simple or as decorated as you want, and your Schleich horses will look amazing in the arena wearing custom tack!
The garland! This item is a bit more Halloween themed, but if you wanted to make it all autumn you could too! Caution!This craft involves sharp objects and should be done with extreme care. I began by drawing small spiders, pumpkins, and spider webs on a piece of thin paper. Then I drew some golden horse shoes to tie it in more to the stables. I loosely cut out the shapes using a sharp hobby knife. I then carefully threaded a string through each piece using a very thin needle.

Custom Schleich model horse to chestnut tobiano OOAK model horse custom
READ CAREFULLY!
This Schleich model horse has been completely hand-customized by myself to have a chestnut tobiano coat color. He is a completely original and one of a kind (OOAK) model horse. After going through the prepping stage, it was customized using acrylic paint and pastels, and was then sealed with matte varnish spray. The eyes, hooves, and nostrils of the horse have been glossed. My signature is painted on the belly of the horse (refer to picture). The horse is in 1:24 scale, the standard scale of Schleich horses. This model horse was painted with extreme care and detail however minor flaws may occur and show quality is not guaranteed.
