Model Horse Snow Photography Trip January 2026

Hello everyone! Let’s talk about my snow photoshoot of January 2026! I will show you the pictures, comment on what I like and dislike about each shot, and analyze the composition.

I love these two shots! Talent, my Schleich Andalusian Mare, look so gorgeous in the snow! The second picture has a cool effect (no pun intended :) ). I actually took the shot as I was about to get up and the camera got shoved in the snow a bit.

Next up we have Venezuela, the Schleich Paint Horse Mare, who I would never have paired with cool tones. But I stand corrected, the pictures turned out amazing! Definitely one of my favorites!

Then I decided to practice taking pictures of horses and riders, I don’t take pictures like this very often. I think they turned out fine, looking back I would have tweaked the angle and fiddled around more with the rider’s position on Yuri’s last shot, he’s very close to the camera and Kathrine is leaning a bit too far back. Yuri’s attentive ear is nicely signaling back towards Katherine who is purposefully out of focus, but the reins flapping and her position kind of ruins the shot. I could have probably executed that a bit better but it was so freezing cold and honestly I did not want to be out there longer than I needed to.

Here are some more of the pictures! I hope you liked seeing my snowy photoshoot!

Thank you for reading!
